Roy Brady McNeal, age 87, of Dyersburg, TN passed away Friday, October 22, 2021 at his residence.

Roy was born on October 21, 1934 in Braselton, GA to the late Teavy McCurry "Buster" McNeal and Mary Magdaline "Maggie" Reynolds. He was a well known gospel singer for over 60 plus years. Roy sang with many groups including the Ranger's Trio, Prophets Quartet, Statesman Quartet, Stamps Quartet, New Prophets Quartets and The Gospel Sings Caravan. Roy received many awards during his career that included the Living Legend Award at the Grand Ole Gospel Reunion in 2003, the Living legend Award at the 2005 Music City Gospel Showcase, Lead Singer award in gospel music, the Thomas McNeal Award and was inducted in the Tri-State Gospel Music Association Hall of Fame in August 2021. He also enjoyed baseball, football, playing golf and rook at family get togethers.

The family will receive visitors from 10:00 - 1:00 Saturday, October 30, 2021 at Dyersburg Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Saturday, October 30, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home conducted by Rev. Larry Koonce. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Dyersburg, TN.

Survivors include his wife, Beverly Pipkin McNeal of Dyersburg, TN; one daughter, Shana Hyman (David) of Olive Branch, MS; two grandchildren, Michaela Friend (A.J.) and Mayson Hyman; one great grandchild, Bethany Friend; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers William McNeal, Myron McNeal, Howard McNeal, W.C. "Dub" McNeal, Thomas McNeal, Robert McNeal, and Joel McNeal; his sisters, Janie McNeal, Elsie Kinney, Maggie Davis, and Evelyn Ledbetter; his grandchild, Channing McNeal and many nieces and nephews.

Honoring Roy as pallbearers will be Eddie Tittle, Paul McNeal, Chuck McNeal, Alan Berryman, Bobby Tweedy and Danny Gregg.
