The sun set on Rosemary Hughes, 71, of Dyersburg, passed away on Monday, August 6, 2018 at her residence.

Sunrise was on August 1, 1947, in Dyersburg, TN, to the late Issac "Ike" Dunevant and the late Ruth Curtis Dunevant. Rosemary was an LPN for the Tennessee Department of Corrections and loved helping others through her career as a nurse. She was a member of Independent Free Holiness Church and loved working in her yard and mowing the grass.

Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at Sorrell's Chapel Cemetery with the Rev. Calvin Smith officiating. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

The family will receive visitors from 11 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at Dyersburg Funeral Home.

Survivors include her two daughters, Susan Redden of Dyersburg and Janet Hughes of Nashville; a son, Tommy Lynn Hughes of Dyersburg; a brother, Jerry Dunevant of Friendship; six grandchildren, Leah Butler, Derendia Redden, Joshua Hughes and Matthew Butler, all of Dyersburg, Brittany Burse and Jessica Tubbs, both of Caruthersville, MO; and nine great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Tommie L. Hughes; and a great-granddaughter, Emmalynn Butler.

Pallbearers will be Leah Butler, Matt Butler, Derendia Redden, Joshua Hughes, Jerry Barlow and Kayla Phillips. Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Dunevant, Jayden, Jacob, Dylan, Kaiden, Jackson and Cyrus.
