Rose Marie Burkett, age 94, of Tampa, FL, and formerly of Tiptonville, TN, passed away peacefully at her residence on Tuesday, February 17, 2026.

Born on June 5, 1931, in Tiptonville, TN, she was the beloved daughter of the late Lexie and Lottie Mitchell Leonard. Rose dedicated 38 years of her life to a career in government services, where she held various positions within the Army Reserve and The Defense Depot. Her work was a testament to her commitment and dedication.

After retiring, Rose returned to the serene surroundings of Reelfoot Lake. She cherished her time with her church family at Union Avenue and Crockett's Chapel Church. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, and she found joy and happiness in serving and helping others.
Rose had a deep love for her extended family and friends across Lake, Dyer, and Shelby counties. Her life was centered around faith, family, friends, and community, which were the most important things to her.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, February 27, 2026 at Crockett's Chapel Church with Rev. Marita Burkeen and Mr. Michael Burkett officiating. Burial will follow in Crockett's Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive visitors beginning at 10 a.m. until service time at the church. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include her son, Mike Burkett and wife, Margaret, of Tampa, FL; two grandchildren, Mike Burkett and wife, Amanda, and Sarah Burkett Porter, all of Tampa, FL; and four great-grandchildren, Mike Burkett, Garner Porter, Gaines Porter and Greylen Porter.

In addition to her parents, Rose was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Gerald Burkett.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
