Roger Dale Tippit, 55, of Tiptonville, passed away on Friday, July 5, 2013 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center.

He was a retired truck driver, attended Exchange Street Church of Christ and owned A-Tippit Sewer & Drainage in Chicago, IL.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in the Ridgely Chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with the Rev. Paul Adams officiating. Burial will be in New Haven Cemetery.

The family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Survivors include his wife, Victoria Tippit; a daughter, Heather Tippit Purvis and husband, Bill, of Ridgely; a son, Christopher Tippit and wife, Lola D., of Demotte, IN.; a step-son, Robert Poteete and wife, Bianca, of Largo, FL.; two sisters, Cynthia Anita Johnson and Teresa Ann Davis, both of Union City; five grandchildren, Christopher Cody Tippit, Shelby Brooke Lanier, Abby Claire Tippit, Emma Kate Tippit and William Knox Purvis; five step-grandchildren, Lane Perry Jackson, Blake Austin White, Collin Robert Poteete, Hannah Marie Poteete and Riley James Poteete; five nephews, Charles Ricky Davis, Timothy Louis Davis, Danny Louis Tippit, Jr., Larry Joe Johnson, Jr. and Terry William Johnson, Jr.; and several great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Mamie Holland Tippit; a sister, Marsha Denise Johnson; and two brothers, Danny Louis Tippit and William Edward Tippit.

Pallbearers will be Cotton Brewer, Benny Long, Danny Tippit, Jason Joyce, Tim Davis, Ricky Davis, Larry Johnson and Terry Johnson. Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Joe Johnson, John Cochran, Ronnie Lanier, Bill Purvis and Roger Belt.
