Mr. Roger Dale Forrest, of Union City, passed away at his residence on Tuesday, Oct. 12, 2021.  He was born Feb. 5, 1947 in Ridgely, TN to the late Buford & Lillie Forrest.  He was a Baptist by faith and proudly served our country and communities.  He retired from the United States Army with the rank of Staff Sgt., serving in Viet Nam, and also the rank of Corporal, serving at the Northwest Correctional Complex.  He was a Lifetime member of the American Legion.

He is survived by his wife, Kathy Forrest, of Union City, a son, Quinton Troy Forrest, of Troy, step-son, Bryan Wyrick, of Union City, step-daughter, Michelle Johnson, of Dyersburg and a brother, Gene Forrest, of Hornbeak.  He was loved by his ten grandchildren; Joseph Forrest, Jessica Forrest, Lee Baggett, Jodie Forrest, Brooke Forrest, Jeremiah Johnson, Troy Blake Forrest, Dakota Wyrick, Emily Spivey and Rachel King; as well as his fifteen Great-Grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at the Ridgely Chapel on Friday, Oct. 15, 2021 from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 16, 2021 at the Dyersburg Funeral Home Ridgely Chapel, conducted by Rev. Clayton Mahan with interment to follow in New Haven Cemetery.  Lee & Tyler Baggett, Bryan & Dakota Wyrick, Ricky Forrest, Jeremiah Johnson & J.T. Stork will be honored to serve as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
