Robert Dwight Wood, Sr., 79, of Tiptonville, TN, passed away on Sunday, June 15, 2025 at his home.

He was born in Corinth, MS on December 2, 1945 to the late Robert Green Wood and Katie Leslie Cook. Robert was a skilled welder and machinist that worked repairing equipment for many farmers and businesses in the Lake County area. He had a gift for being able to visualize a part or mechanism and then build it for use. Over the years, he made custom pocketknives for friends as gifts. In his free time he enjoyed fishing at Reelfoot Lake.

Robert is survived by his sons; Robert Wood, Jr. (Brandy), Bobby Wood, Michael Lynn Wood and Jeffery Johnson; his daughters, Amanda Wood and Nancy Wood; a brother, Billy Wayne Wood; and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his companion, Roberta Gooch Kelley.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2025 at the Dyersburg Funeral Home Ridgely Chapel beginning at 10:00 a.m. Graveside funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. in New Haven Cemetery conducted by Mr. Rick Crawford.

Friends and family in attendance will be honored to serve as pallbearers.
