Robert Edwin Wood, age 83, of Ridgely, TN, passed away on Friday, October 10, 2025, at his residence.

Born on October 15, 1941, in Owlhoot, TN, he was the son of the late Coleman and Dorothy Bryant Wood. Robert was a dedicated welder fabricator, having worked with Reelfoot Packing, Georgia Gulf, and Coffey Construction Company. He was a devoted family man who cherished his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. In his leisure time, Robert enjoyed sitting on his back porch watching squirrels and was an avid hunter in his younger years.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 15, 2025 at New Haven Cemetery with Mr. Larry Burkett officiating. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

The family will receive visitors from 12-1:45 p.m. Wednesday, October 15, 2025 at the Dyersburg Funeral Home Ridgely Chapel.

Survivors include his two daughters, Kim Lee (Ben) of Tupelo, MS and Shannon Bates (Mike) of Ridgely, TN; three sons, Ronald Wood (Deb) of Ridgely, TN, Mike Wood (Tina) of Tiptonville, TN and Gilbert Wood (Janice) of Dyersburg, TN; two sisters, Wanda Bargery of Hornbeak, TN and Sue Bates of Clarksville, TN; and his best K-9 friend, Sally. Robert was known as "PePaw" to his 20 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Betty Sue Wood; and a grandson, Patrick Runions, Jr.

Honored to serve as pallbearers will be Michael Wood, Tony Wood, Brandon Holder, Shane Jowers, Nick Roy and Jeffery Wood.
