Mr. Robert Max Roberts, of Dyersburg, passed away on Tuesday, March 26, 2024 at West TN Healthcare-Jackson General Hospital. Max was born October 3, 1926 in Sharon, TN to the late Robert Glenn Roberts and Cleo Roberts. He was the long-time owner and operator of the Dyersburg Bakery alongside his wife, Mary. He was a member of Phillips Street Church of Christ and loved spending time reading and studying the Bible. He proudly served in the United States Army during World War II and the Korean War and served his local community as a member of the Dyersburg Kiwanis Club. In his free time, he enjoyed gardening and later in life, loved to deer hunt with family.
He is survived by his wife, of 73 years, Mary Roberts, his son, Robert Dan Roberts & wife, Paula, his daughters, Teresa Ann Roberts & Sandra Jean Bizzle & husband, James, his grandchildren, Robert Lynn Roberts, Jamie Lee Bizzle, Tasha Marie LeCornu, Selena Marie Richardson, his great-grandchildren, Emmett & Brindee Roberts, Tessa Ellis, Audrey, Alexia & Ryan Bizzle, Heath & Riley Richardson, Kloe Lynn Fortner, Courtney Bell and Tatiana Collins and his great-great-grandson, Owen Ellis. He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Billy Roberts, his granddaughter, Amber Nicole Roberts and great-granddaughter, Cody Richardson.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 30, 2024 at 1:30 at the Phillips Street Church of Christ, conducted by Mr. Andy Brewer, with visitation from 11:30 until services begin. Interment will follow at Martin Memorial Gardens in Martin, TN. Noah Richardson, Heath Richardson, Jamie Bizzle, Lynn Roberts, Terry Wallace and Roper Gean will he honored to serve as pallbearers.
