Obituary

Robert Clint King, Jr., 88, of Dyersburg, passed away on Friday, March 21, 2014 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center.

Robert joined the Navy, (during WWII) at the age of 16 years old. While in the Navy, he was stationed on a submarine tender, serving in the South Pacific. He worked at Colonial Rubber Works for over 30 years. While at Colonial, he invented many devices for the manufacture of different rubber items, including the "King Bee". He also farmed for many years. He was the past commander of the local VFW Post 1972. Robert enjoyed fishing, trading stocks and traveling, which sometimes the travel could be a simple, pleasant drive down to the bottoms and the Mississippi River. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Fairview Cemetery with the Rev. Ronnie Turner officiating. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

The family will receive visitors from 5:30-8 p.m. Sunday at Dyersburg Funeral Home.

Survivors include his five sons, Robert Clint King III of Brookfield, WI, Thomas L. King (Shirley) of Dyersburg, Carl W. King (Kristy) of Molino, FL, David L. King (Terri) of Houston TX and Paul J. King (Heidi) of Hammond, LA; a sister, Margaret Bullard of Memphis; and eleven grandchildren, Matt King and Mike King, both of Brookfield, WI, Ryan King of Oakland, CA, Lauren King of Austin, TX, Audrey Nicole King of Franklin, Scott King and Jeremy King, both of Houston, TX, Paul King, Jr. and Emily King, both of Dyersburg, Chris King and Michele King, both of Frog Jump.
He was preceded in death by a son, Peter J. King; his parents, Robert C. King, Sr. and Wilma King; and two sisters, Winnie King and Patricia King.

Family members will serve as pallbearers.
