Mr. Robert James Dowell of Dyersburg, passed away Friday January 24, 2020 at his residence.  He was born Feb. 25, 1942 to the late Robert & Virginia Dowell.  He was an accountant for Heckethorn Mfg. and served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam.  He was a member of West Dyersburg Church of Christ and the Dyersburg Moose Lodge and was the former owner of Mr. D's Skating Rink.

He is survived by his nephews, Benny & Glenn Hopgood and his sister, Gale (Clifford) Hopgood, all of Dyersburg, as well as ten Great-Nieces & Nephews.  He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert M. and Virginia Law Dowell and a nephew, Andy Hopgood.

Graveside funeral services will be held Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at Fairview Cemetery in Dyersburg, conducted by Bro. Jim Chamblee.  All Friends are asked to join the family at the cemetery.
