Obituary

Robert Dale Bloomquist, 81, of Dyersburg, TN, passed away on Sunday, March 17, 2019 at West Tennessee Healthcare Dyersburg Hospital.

Born the only child of Ralph A. and Eva (Zumwalt) Bloomquist, December 24, 1937 at Iroquois Memorial Hospital in Watseka, IL. He graduated from Donovan Grade School and Donovan High School, Donovan, IL in 1955. Served in the US Navy from October 1955 till September 1958. Worked at Caterpillar, East Peoria, IL, retiring from there in March 1992 with over 31 years of service. While at Caterpillar, he graduated from the Machine Shop Trainee Apprentice Course in January 1966. He owned and operated PMOS, Inc from 1992 till end of 2005. While operating PMOS, he worked on machines at several Mid-South Manufacturing Plants. He was a member of the Dyersburg Church of God.

Bob came to Dyersburg in January 1999 to work on a machine at the local Caterpillar plant. He liked the area and met his wife during the first year that he was in the Dyersburg area. He knew then that this was going to be his home. In February 2000, he moved to Dyersburg and married his wife, Carolyn (Copeland) Bloomquist, who survives.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 19, 2019 at Dyer County Memorial Gardens with Bishop Robert Davis officiating. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

The family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. Monday, March 18, 2019 at Dyersburg Funeral Home.

Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Copeland Bloomquist of Dyersburg; a step-son, Chip Ditto and wife, Becky, of Dyersburg; three grandchildren, Hollidy Magadan and husband, Joel, and Cassie Horner, all of Dyersburg and Chase Horner of Denver, CO; two great-grandchildren, Christian and Ian Magadan; several cousins; and several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

Pallbearers will be Chip Ditto, Joel Magadan, Sammy Copeland, Tony Reed, J.T. Davidson and Richard Charest.

Memorials may be directed to a charity of the donor's choice or to Dyersburg Church of God.
