Robert Lee Algee passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family July 29, 2022 at the Med in Memphis, TN.
Lee was born at the Baptist Hospital in Memphis, TN on February 10, 1973. He was the son of Dr. and Mrs. Robin Algee of Dyersburg, TN. Lee is survived by his children, who he loved unconditionally and was very proud of, daughter, Sydney Camille Algee; and son, Max Dylan Algee of Arlington, TN. He is also survived by a brother, Patrick Lynn Algee (Kelly) and nieces, Valerie Eden and Lilly Eve Algee; all of Spring Hill, TN; special friend and mother of his children, Erin Kelly Algee of Arlington, TN; daughter (in love), Ann Lera Forsythe and special friend Allison Hicks of Dyersburg.
He was preceded in death by an infant brother, Gregory Alan Algee; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Bert Yarbro, Jr. of Dyersburg, previously of Hickman, KY, Mr. Bob Algee and Mrs. Hellen Rice of Tiptonville, TN.
Lee was a 1991 graduate of Dyersburg High School. He was on the Dyersburg Football team and was a member of Young Life. Lee accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior at the Young Life Camp in North Carolina. Afterwards being baptized at his home church of West Dyersburg Church of Christ. He was employed as Farm Manager of Yarbro Farms outside of Hickman, KY.
Lee attended University of Tennessee at Martin, where he was a member of the Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity and graduated from the University of Memphis.
Some of Lee's special memories were the birth of his children, seeing the University of Tennessee win a National Football Championship in 1998 with his brother and friends. He especially enjoyed backpacking through Europe in 2000 with friend Robert Burks, where they "Ran with the Bulls" in Pamplona Spain. He was inspired to do this after reading "The Sun Also Rises" by Ernest Hemingway.
He loved spending time outdoors hunting, fishing, and enjoying nature at the family farm. We are proud to say that he previously made the decision to become and organ donor.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, August 4, 2022 in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with Mr. Jim Chamblee and Mr. Stephen Sutton officiating. Burial will be in New Haven Cemetery.
The family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at Dyersburg Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Chad Davis, Brad Butcher, Jeff Simon, Wyatt Bunker, Robert Burks and Jason Hicks. Honorary pallbearers will be Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity Brothers.
