Richard Eugene "Gene" Ball, 76, of Dyersburg, died Saturday, September 11, 2010 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center.
He was a retired Supervisor for Colonial Rubber Works, where he worked for 35 years, a member and Deacon of Springhill Baptist Church, an avid Crappie Fisherman, a lifetime St. Louis Cardinals Baseball Fan and a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles Halliburton officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
The family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Kee Ball of Dyersburg; two daughters, Gina Ball Poore and husband, Gary, of Woodstock, GA. and Patti Ball Chou and husband, K.B., of Columbus, GA.; a son, Scott Ball and wife, Tonya, of Nebo; two sisters, Bette Burchfield of Eugene, Oregon and Debi Longmire of Humboldt; a brother, Tommy Ball of Martin; and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hollis and Auvern Duncan Ball.
Pallbearers will be Danny Ennis, Dustin Ennis, David Kee, Matt Kee, Gerry Harvard and Johnny McClure. Honorary pallbearers will be W.O. Henry, Little Joe Pritchett, Thomas Kee, Joe Rankin, O.V. Fowler and Robert Willard.
