Richard Earl Fortner, 70, of Tiptonville, TN passed away Friday, April 22, 2022 at his residence.

Richard was born on December 17, 1951, in Memphis, TN to the late James and Clara Bryant Fortner. He was a taxi cab driver for Red Cab Taxi Company in Dyersburg and was an avid fisherman and pool player. Richard proudly served his country in the United States Army.

Cremation services are under the direction of Dyersburg Funeral Home.

Survivors include his wife, Sue Fortner of Tiptonville, TN; three sons, Sean Fortner (Tina) and Jeremiah Fortner, all of Omaha, NE and Robert Fortner (Tabitha) of Tiptonville, TN; a brother, Charles Fortner of Dyersburg, TN; a sister, Frances Clark of Dyersburg, TN; fourteen grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a special granddaughter and caregiver, Destiny Gourley.

In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by a sister, Janet Fortner; and two brothers, James Fortner and Elvis Fortner.
