Richard Eugene Cole, age 84, of Dyersburg, Tennessee went home to be with his Lord on Wednesday, February 13, 2013.

He was a retired Electrician from the maintenance department at Dyersburg State Community College where he worked for 25 years. Before that he worked for 25 years for Dyer Electric Motor Service of Dyersburg.

He attended Springhill Baptist Church with his wife of 63 years Angel Johnston Cole.

Services will be at 3 P.M. Saturday in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with the Rev. James Branscum officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.

The family will receive visitors from 5:30 p. m - 8 p.m. Friday at Dyersburg Funeral Home.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Angel Johnston Cole of Dyersburg; one daughter, Camille Welborn of Antioch Tennessee; one son, Tony E. Cole of Dyersburg; three grandchildren, Jessica Elizabeth Cole of Sandy Utah, Sarah Welborn and Michael Welborn, both of Antioch; a cousin, James Harold Powell of Ridgley, Tennessee and wife Anne Mae.

He was preceded in death by his parents, P.H. and Opal Cole.

Pallbearers will be Carl Hicks, Lloyd Koonce, Charley James, Mike Lunsford, John Moore and Dale Woods. Honorary Pallbearers are Phil Newsom and Grover McCraw.


The family requests that memorials be directed to the Dyersburg-Dyer County Cancer Fund.
