Richard Thomas Bevis Sr., 64, of Dyer, died Wednesday, March 18, 2009 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
He was retired as a truck driver owner/operator, and he was a Baptist.

Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday in Dyer County Memorial Gardens with Bro. Bobby Jack Harris officiating.

The family will receive visitors from 1:30-2:30 p.m. Sunday at Dyersburg Funeral Home.

Survivors include three daughters, Tammy Bevis Barham and husband, Tony, of Finley, Ashley Suzanne Bevis and Shelby Lynn Bevis, both of Trenton; two sons, Richard Dale Bevis of Dyer and James Christopher Bevis of Dyersburg; two sisters, Sue Pack and Rose Shelton, both of Savannah; three brothers, Harry Bevis and Robert Bevis, both of Dyersburg, and Lester Bevis of Trimble; three grandchildren, Brittney Clanton, Brionna Ellison and Ayden Bevis; a great-grandchild, Maria Grace Hurst; and a special friend, Sylvia Barron.

He was preceded in death by his parents, J.C. "Jake" and Evelyn Bevis; a sister, Betty K. Harrington; and a brother, Jake "Flash" Bevis.

Pallbearers will be Glenn Bevis, Gary Bevis, Kevin Harrington, June Bug Shelton, Cody Shelton and Jacob Bevis.
