Reba June Bane

Mrs. Reba June Bane, of Friendship, passed away Wednesday, April 22, 2026 at Jackson General Hospital.  She was born November 5, 1937 near Finley, TN, to the late John and Jesse Grizzle.  Throughout her life, Reba was a dedicated worker.  In their early years, she and her husband traveled far and wide as migrant farm laborers, harvesting fruits, vegetables and other produce.  She truly loved those years, seeing new places, meeting new people and enjoying life simpler pleasures.  Later they settled in Dyersburg, where the worked at Sylvania Manufacturing, Kroger and Ryan's Steakhouse.  She always was a devoted homemaker.  Growing, cooking, canning and sharing the fruit of her labor with family and friends always brought her joy.  She was very active in the ministries of the Junction Church of God where she taught Sunday School for a time.  Family activities meant much to her, whether it was a trip to the mountains every year or going to her grandchildren's ballgames or other events.  

Reba is survived by her daughter, Nina Robertson; and was greatly loved as "Nanny" by her grandchildren; Shannon Hill, Phillip Crawford, Heather Rodgers, Jennifer Rose, Loretta Ubal, Josh Robertson; her 16 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great grandchildren.  

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Billy Joe Bane; her twin sister, Rita Jean Enochs; her daughter, Jacqueline Bane-Asher; and her grandson, Eric Clay Carter Asher.  

Visitation will be held at Dyersburg Funeral Home on Monday, April 27, 2026 beginning at 11:00 a.m. Chapel funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. with interment to follow in Fairview Cemetery.  Reba's family members will be honored to serve as pallbearers.
