Obituary

Raymond Lee Kimbrell, 76, of Dyersburg, died Sunday, Dec. 14, 2008 at Dyersburg Manor Nursing Center.
He was founder and CEO of Kimbrell Van Lines Inc. and Kimbrell Mini-Storage, a member of Southside Baptist Church, an Army veteran of the Korean War, a member of the Tennessee Truckers Association, a member of the American Moving and Storage Association, past member and board director of the Tennessee Movers Association, and past member of the Bekins Agent Advisory Council.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Dyersburg Funeral Home with the Rev. Mike Hickman officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.

The family will receive visitors from 5:30-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Carolyn King Kimbrell of Dyersburg; two daughters, Evette Kimbrell Chapman of League City, Texas, and Karen Kimbrell Cagle of Houston, Texas; and eight grandchildren, Alexis Plauche, Majure Van Dyke, Logan Rye, Carly Rye, Evan Chapman, Easton Chapman, Emery Chapman and Evie Chapman.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon Kimbrell Rye; his parents, Ed and Ruby Kimbrell; a sister, Cellon Kimbrell Thetford; and three brothers, James Kimbrell, Charles Kimbrell and Melvin Kimbrell.

Pallbearers will be Joe Quinley, Ricky Tidwell, Steve Poole, Majure Van Dyke, Evan Chapman and Easton Chapman. Honorary pallbearer will be Logan Rye.
