Randa Robinson Ragan

Randa Robinson Ragan, 77, of Dyersburg, Tennessee, passed away on September 20, 2026, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital. She was born on October 24, 1948, in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Randa will be remembered as a devoted educator, a woman of deep faith, and someone who gave generously of her time and talents to her church and community. She retired as a chemistry and physics teacher at Dyersburg High School, where she influenced generations of students through her knowledge, guidance, and steady presence. Her commitment to service extended well beyond the classroom. She was a charter member of Grace Methodist Church and served for 20 years as a Community Bible Study Leader. She was also a longtime board member and secretary of the Union Mission.

Her life was marked by both energy and creativity. Randa was an avid tennis player who loved to play Bridge and enjoyed golf and sailing. She also loved to paint, bringing beauty and expression into the lives around her. Her generous spirit was evident in many ways, including her remarkable commitment as a 15-gallon blood donor. Earlier in life, she was a member of Alpha Delta Pi at U.T. Martin, and she also shared her gifts with young people by teaching swimming and canoeing at Youth Camp.

Above all, Randa treasured her family. She is survived by her husband, Ben Ragan of Dyersburg, Tennessee. She also leaves her sons, Chris Ragan and his wife, Kim, of Knoxville, Tennessee, and Kevin Ragan and his wife, Leslie, of Franklin, Tennessee. Her love also lives on in her grandchildren, Wade Ragan and his wife, Maggie, Walker Ragan, Rilee Kate Ragan, Adley Ragan, and Weston Ragan. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Ken Robinson, and her mother, Tot James Robinson.

Visitation for Randa Ragan will be held on Thursday, September 24, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at Grace Methodist Church, 2240 Parr Avenue, Dyersburg, Tennessee 38024. The funeral service will follow at 4:00 p.m. at Grace Methodist Church with Rev. Charlie Harper officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Honored to serve as pallbearers will be Wade Ragan, Walker Ragan, Weston Ragan, Chip Finley, Errol Hook and Larry Gibson.

Randa’s life was one of faith, service, learning, and love. Her memory will remain a blessing to her family, her friends, her church, her students, and her community.
