Phillip Elias Hodge, 85, of Tiptonville, died Friday, April 23, 2010 at Methodist North Hospital in Memphis.
He was a retired Correctional Officer for Northwest Correctional Facility, a Corporal in the U.S. Army during WWII serving in Egypt, a member of Tiptonville First Baptist Church, a Deacon, the church Custodian, song leader, RA Leader and a Soloist.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Tiptonville First Baptist Church with Dr. Paul Barkley officiating. Burial will be in Tiptonville City Cemetery.
The family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. Saturday at the church.
Survivors include two daughters, Phyllis Neyman and husband, Buddy, of Arlington, TN and Rhonda Barkley and husband, Paul, of Lakeland, TN; four grandchildren, Karis Barkley Kennedy, Kathryn Barkley Whalen, Kirk Barkley and Elizabeth Hall Stewart; and four great-grandchildren, Kara Stewart, Thomas Stewart, Eliana Kennedy and Bria Barkley.
He was preceded in death by his wife Annette Foster Hodge; his parents, Joseph and Mary Hodge; two sisters, Adele Hodge and Catherine Calhoun; and a brother, Simon Hodge.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials may be directed to Tiptonville First Baptist Church.
