Peggy Swindle Weaks, 82, of Tiptonville, passed away on Saturday, July 12, 2014 at Baptist Hospital in Union City.
She was a retired operator for H.I.S. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Tiptonville and was a member of the Friendship Sunday School Class. She married Mr. Lawrence Weaks on April 13, 1952 in Hernando, MS.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church in Tiptonville with the Rev. Marita Burkeen officiating. Burial will be in Antioch Cemetery in Hornbeak. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
The family will receive visitors from 5:30-8 p.m. Tuesday at the church.
Besides her husband, survivors include her two sisters, Monita Alexander and Betty Orr, both of Hornbeak; a brother, Dickie Swindle and wife, Susan, of Union City; three sisters-in-law, Wilma Hampton of Detroit, MI, Earline Allen of Plano, TX and Onita Foot of Birmingham, AL; a brother-in-law, Gary Weaks of Union City; and a special cousin, Cliff Berry, Sr.
She was preceded in death by her son, Timothy Weaks; and her parents, A.D. and Blanche Godwin Swindle.
Pallbearers will be Cliff Berry, Alan Butler, Albert Markham, Tommy Lovell, Keith Hulme, Karl Haywood, Frank Markham and Skipper Pierce. Honorary pallbearers will be members of Friendship Sunday School Class.
