Peggy Jean Starnes' Obituary
Peggy Jean Starnes, 79, of Lenox, formerly of Dyersburg, died Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at her residence.
She was a retired factory worker from Sylvania and a member of East Dyersburg Methodist Church.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with the Rev. Stan Young officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
The family will receive visitors from 4:30-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Survivors include her husband, Billy Joe Starnes of Lenox; two daughters, Donna Smith and husband, Jerry, and Pennie King and husband, Joe, all of Dyersburg; a son, Steve Starnes and wife, Ann, of Lenox; a brother, W.C. "Dub" Byrd of Dyersburg; five grandchildren, Jeremy Smith, Skip Starnes, Chris Starnes, Greg Starnes and Chelsey King; and two great-grandchildren, Karlee Nicole Smith and Evan Drake Starnes.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John, Sr. and Ollie Whitehead Byrd; a sister, Beatrice Anderson; and two brothers, Virgil Byrd and John Taylor Byrd, Jr.
Pallbearers will be Danny Byrd, Randy Byrd, Jeremy Smith, Skip Starnes, Chris Starnes and Greg Starnes.
