Mrs. Peggy Juanita Simmons, of Dyersburg, passed away Wednesday, May 28, 2025 at Okeena Health & Rehabilitation.  She was born October 10, 1940 in Finley TN to the late Paul Lee Barker and Inez Russell Armstrong.  Peggy was a devoted mother and homemaker.  She was an avid reader, spending her time at the local library and was a fan of investigative television shows.  She enjoyed gardening and sharing the strawberries that she grew.  Her Christian faith showed through her attendance of local church services and watching church broadcasts later in life.

Peggy is survived by her husband, Claude B. Simmons, sons Mike Daniels (Selena), Randy Simmons, Timmy Simmons (Patricia), daughter Lisa French and brother Ricky Robbins and sisters Sandra Kaye Hall (Bobby), Helen June Barker Perkins and Peggy June Waddell.  She was greatly loved as Grandmaw and Mamaw, always looking forward to visits from her grandchildren Tommie Sue Childress (Jimmy), Kevin Daniels, J.P. Daniels, Misty Fleming Anderson, Brandi Williamson, Johnny "JoJo" Williamson (Marie), James Pickard (Lori), Michael Pickard, Jeremy Pickard, Jackie Kirk, Jason Butler, Jere Blalock, Barry Daniels (Brianna) Cassie Brezenski (Aaron) Amanda Bryant, Randy Simmons and Huston Simmons and her many great-grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her parents, her sons David Paul Daniels and Thomas "Tommy" Daniels, her daughters Phyllis Blalock and husband, Jerry "Topper" Blalock and Vicki Williamson, her brothers Jere, James, David Robbins and Bobby Barker and a grandson, Christopher Bryan Henson.

Family and friends are asked to gather at Sorrell Chapel Cemetery on Sunday, June 1, 2025 at 3:00 p.m. for graveside services conducted by Mr. Travis Roberson.  Honored to serve as pallbearers will be Logan Rushing, Peyton Rushing, Randy Lynn Simmons, Auston Gauge Simmons, J.P. Daniels, Mike Goff, Bill Fleming, Randy Simmons and JoJo Williamson.
