Peggy Lavene Hood Smyth, 83, of Obion, TN, passed away on Saturday, November 17, 2018 at her residence.
She was born on August 19, 1935, in Lake County, TN, to the late Chess and Katie Lancaster Hood. Peggy was a retired employee with Kenerie Corp. She was also a Baptist.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, November 19, 2018 at Minnick Bible Church in Obion, TN with the Rev. Ricky Stover officiating. Burial will be in New Haven Cemetery. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
The family will receive visitors from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Monday, November 19, 2018 at the church.
Survivors include her son, Jerry Robert "Butch" Smyth and wife, Reba, of Atkins, AR; three daughters, Teresa Gail Brown and husband, Jeff, of Kenton, Suzie Stover and husband, Glenn, of Obion and Debbie Maddox and husband, David, of Union City; a sister, Kay Faulkner of Trimble; a brother, Ray Hood of Elizabethtown, KY; nine grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Smyth; a son, Larry Smyth; a brother, Robert Hood; three sisters, Pauline Cook, Catherine Chessor and Frances Leake; and a great-granddaughter, Bailey Grace Hamilton.
Pallbearers will be Ricky Pugh, Jon Michael Johnson, Dalton Smyth, Dustin Smyth, George Leake, Lucas Hamilton and Franklin Tate.
