Peggy Wright Burrus, 85, of Ridgely, TN, passed away on Thursday, June 11, 2020 at Signature Healthcare in Ridgely.

Peggy was born on May 8, 1935, in Hornbeak, TN, to the late James Richard Cashon and the late Lois Jackson Cashon. She was a homemaker and formerly owned the Yankapin Gift Shop in Samburg. Peggy was a member of First United Methodist Church in Tiptonville and was also one of the original founding members of the Reelfoot Arts & Crafts Festival. Peggy and her late husband were avid antique collectors.

Memorial services will be at 4 p.m. Sunday, June 14, 2020 in the Ridgely Chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with Dr. Carl Mills and Mr. Frank Dalton officiating.

The family will receive visitors from 3-4 p.m. Sunday, June 14, 2020 at the funeral home.

Survivors include her daughter, Phyllis Bargery (Bryan) of Ridgely, TN; a sister, Becky Vickers of Dallas, TX; two grandchildren, Kasey Bargery and Kaitlin Schmaltz; and four great-grandchildren, Brendan Bargery, Ashton Bargery, Levi Rush Schmaltz and Hadley Jo Schmaltz.

In addition to her parents, Peggy was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon Rush Burrus; and a son, James Rush Burrus.
