Paulette Slaughter McGuire, age 77, of Dyersburg, TN, passed away on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at Signature Healthcare of Ridgely.

Born on November 13, 1948, in Dyersburg, TN, she was the beloved daughter of the late Pete and Lucy Countess Slaughter. Paulette dedicated 33 years of her life as a Circuit Clerk for the Dyer County Courthouse, where she cherished working alongside attorneys, judges, deputies, and her co-workers, whom she considered family. Her love for her flowerbeds and working in her yard was well-known, as was her affection for her animals, including Little Bit, her miniature donkey, and her dog Finn. Paulette also enjoyed frequently rearranging her furniture. She was a devoted member of Springhill Baptist Church, where her faith was an integral part of her life.

Memorial visitation will be from 4:30-7:30 p.m. Thursday, December 4, 2025 at Dyersburg Funeral Home.

Cremation services are under the direction of Dyersburg Funeral Home.

Survivors include her brother, Willie Slaughter of Dyersburg, TN; and four sisters, Nancy Lambert, Katie Slaughter Rutenber and Wanda Whitehouse, all of Dyersburg, TN and Rita Leach of Newbern, TN.

In addition to her parents, Paulette was preceded in death by her husband, Glen Ray McGuire; and two sons, Ryan McGuire and Jason McGuire.
