Paul Smith, 90, of Dyersburg, TN, passed away on Friday, October 9, 2020 at his residence.

Paul was born on July 13, 1930, in Guntersville, AL, to the late John and Beulah Grizzle Smith. He was a self-employed heavy equipment operator for many farmers in and around Dyer County and was a migrant worker, picking fruit all over the country. Paul was a member of Independent Free Holiness Church. He was a musician, enjoyed singing and playing the mandolin and guitar. Paul enjoyed playing gospel music.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, October 12, 2020 in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with Bro. Calvin Smith and Bro. Tommy Roper officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.

The family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. Sunday, October 11, 2020 at Dyersburg Funeral Home.

Survivors include his four daughters, Debbie Pruiett (Rickie) of West Plains, MO, Paula Roper (Tommy), Bobbie Burns (Gerald) and Janet Brimm (Avery), all of Dyersburg, TN; a sister, Glenda Forsythe of Dyersburg, TN; two brothers, Calvin Smith and Lloyd Smith (Linda), all of Dyersburg, TN; ten grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Mary Smith; a son, Richard Leon Smith; three brothers, Frank Smith, Homer Lee Smith and Neely Smith; two sisters, Burma Townson and Martha White; a grandson, Grant Brimm; and a son-in-law, Rickie Pruiett.

Pallbearers will be Jon Garrison, Jamie Fowler, Zach Roper, John Smith, Jarred Jones and Tony Prater. Honorary pallbearers will be Mason Forsythe and Larry Forsythe.
