Paul Wilson Essary, age 84, of Finley, TN, passed away after a long illness on Sunday, August 17, 2025, at his residence.

Born on November 11, 1940, in Minglewood, TN, he was the sixth of eight children to the late John "Pat" Osdell Essary and Edith Clydie Jones Essary. Paul was a dedicated farmer and a proud U.S. Army Veteran. He will be remembered for his contributions to his community and his service to his country.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 20, 2025 in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with Bro. Royce McGuire officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. The family will receive visitors beginning at 10 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Survivors include his sister, Leatha McGuire (Jerry) of Pinson, TN; William and Denise Collier Jones, who he lived with and considered family; his nieces, Laura Faulk of Missouri, Teresa Picirrilli of Somerville, TN, and Kathy Finch of McKenzie, TN; his nephews, Gary Little of Missouri, Jason Roberts and Bryan Roberts, both of Greenfield, TN, Chris Finch of Martin, TN, Mike McGuire of Henderson, TN, Steve McGuire of Lexington, TN and Mark McGuire of Collierville, TN; and a big white dog named Harley.

In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by three brothers, Billy Joe Essary, Donald Essary and John Douglas Essary; and three sisters, Margaret Little, Judy Finch and Linda Roberts.
