Patsy Ann Mealer, age 83, of Dyersburg, TN, and formerly of Ridgely, TN, passed away on Friday, February 27, 2026, at the Signature Healthcare of Ridgely.

Born on January 13, 1943, in Ridgely, TN, she was the beloved daughter of the late Aaron Samson Shirley and Rosa Bell Smith Shirley. Patsy was a self-employed housekeeper and a former employee of Rolane Manufacturing. She had a passion for reading, especially the Bible, and enjoyed working in her yard, tending to her flowers and garden. Patsy cherished spending time with her family and being pampered by her husband. She was known for always having her make-up and hair perfectly done every day. Later in life, Patsy developed a love for travel, particularly to the mountains and the beach. She was a long-standing member of the Abundant Life Church in Ridgely, where her faith was an integral part of her life.

Services will be at 4 p.m. Sunday, March 1, 2026 at Abundant Life Church in Ridgely with Pastor Tammy Gray and Mrs. Loretta Mealer officiating. Burial will follow in New Haven Cemetery. The family will receive visitors beginning at 2 p.m. until service time at the church. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include her daughter, Sherry Diane Lee and husband, Kenny, of Ridgely, TN; two sons, Auston Mealer, Jr. and wife, Loretta, and Jerry Mealer, all of Dyersburg, TN; two sisters, Carolyn Quillens of Ridgely, TN and Martha Jo Montgomery and husband, David, of Bogota, TN; six grandchildren, Kenneth Leon Lee, Andy Lee, Corey Mealer, Brandtly Mealer, Wesley Mealer and Emmery Mealer; numerous great-grandchildren; and her caregiver that became family, Amanda Reed.

In addition to her parents, Ms. Patsy was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Auston Lee "Alton" Mealer, Sr.; three brothers, Aaron Shirley, Jr., Unifay Shirley and Jerry Lee Shirley; and four sisters, Dorothy Owen, Louise White, Brenda Depriest and Peggy Wilson.

Serving as pallbearers will be Kenneth Lee, Andy Lee, Corey Mealer, Brandtly Mealer, Wesley Mealer and Matt Daily. Honorary pallbearer will be Chris Lee.
