Mr. Otha "Red" Criswell passed away peacefully at his home in Ripley, TN on Saturday, November 11, 2023.   He was born November 19, 1948 to the late Clintie & Eudell Criswell.  Otha was a graduate of Dyer County High school and served in the United States Army.  He later worked as the City Carrier in Covington, TN for the U.S. Postal Service, retiring after 26 years.  He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and enjoyed his free time shooting pool or playing golf.  He was an ordained minister and served as an Elder as a Jehovah's Witness.  Red loved to share the Bible and led in the Prison Ministry at the Fort Pillow Facility for many years.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Deborah Joan Criswell, his daughters, Jennifer Thompson & husband, Roger, of Halls, TN and Bethanie Davis & husband, Michael, of Nesbit MS and was loved as "PopPop" by his three grandchildren, Tristan, Isabella & Jackson Davis.  He leaves two brothers, James & wife, Barbara, of Jackson, TN and Mark & wife, Sharon, of Kenton, TN and five sisters, Linda Dunsmore of Lakeland, FL, Charlene Butler, Lottie Sue Lewis & Ruby Fowler, of Dyersburg and Pamela Webb, of Trimble.  He is preceded in death by his parents, his 4 brothers, Buford, Joe, Larence & John Criswell, his sisters, Carolyn Ketchum, Cleo & Lucille Crawford, Lavern Clopton, Dorothy Brandon and Macie Snow.

The family will host visitation at Dyersburg Funeral Home from 5:00 until 8:00 on Tuesday, November 14, 2023.  A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 18, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at the Dyersburg, TN Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses.
