Opal Inez Wilbanks, 80, of Dyersburg, formerly of Tiptonville, passed away on Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at Dyersburg Manor Nursing Center.
She was a retired retail worker for Dollar General. She was a member of Finley Baptist Church and a former member of First Baptist Church in Tiptonville. She was a 1949 graduate of Tiptonville High School, where she was the valedictorian of her senior class. Ms. Opal was an avid St. Louis Cardinal Baseball Fan.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church in Tiptonville with Bro. Charlie Halliburton officiating. Burial will be in Lake Memorial Gardens. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
The family will receive visitors from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. Saturday at the church.
Survivors include her son, Eddie Wilbanks and wife, Melanie, of Finley; a sister, Barbara Dunlap of Southaven, MS; two brothers, Herman Perkins and wife, Bessie, of Southaven, MS and Richard Perkins and wife, Ann, of Tiptonville; and a grandson, Matthew Wilbanks of Finley.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Jack Wilbanks; her parents, Edgar and Zenewee Thomas Perkins; a sister, Janie Delarosa; and a brother, R.C. Perkins.
Pallbearers will be Mark Enochs, Anthony Evans, Robert Mauldin, Bill Neal, Jared Peckenpaugh and Luke Studard.
