Odis Tirey, Jr.'s Obituary
Odis Tirey, Jr., 82, of Finley, passed away on Friday, October 18, 2013 at The Highlands of Dyersburg Health & Rehab.
He was a retired self-employed painting contractor and a member of New Life Apostolic Church of Dyersburg. He was a former member of the Tennessee Army National Guard, and he was a Corporal in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Services will be Monday at 1:30 p.m. in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home conducted by Rev. Kelly Lock. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
The family will receive visitors Sunday evening from 5-8 p.m. at Dyersburg Funeral Home.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Leatha Tirey of Finley;
his daughter, Pam Vandiver of Finley; one sister, Zoda Burns of Dyersburg; one brother, Marshall Tirey of Finley; and one grandchild, Anna Lock and, husband, Kerry.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Maurice Tirey; his sister, Bertha Watts; and his parents, Odis, Sr. and Bonnie Tirey.
Pallbearers will be Kelly Lock, II, Joseph Hardin, Mike Roberson, Troy Simpson, Shawn Simpson and Franklin Hurst.
The family requested that memorials be directed to the
Alzheimers Association.
