Novis G. Fisher, 89, of Bonicord, TN, passed away Saturday. May 30, 2020 at his residence.

Novis was born on March 19, 1931 in Dyersburg, TN to the late George and Mamie Reed Fisher. He was a retired inspector for the TN Dept. of Agriculture. Novis was an avid fisherman and hunter. He attended Millers Chapel Church of Christ for many years, and also at West Dyersburg Church or Christ. He would conduct bible studies at Dyersburg Manor and often filled in at several church when their minister was absent. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War era.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 31, 2020 at Dyer County Memorial Gardens conducted by Bro. Jon Morris and Bro. John Pleasant.

Survivors include one son, Rocky Fisher (Cathy) of Bonicord, TN; one daughter, Natalie Young (Chris) of Dyersburg, TN; four grandchildren , Elayna Fisher Brown (James), Adam Fisher (Mandy), Erin Cloye Phillips (Jonathan) and John Young (Emily); and six great-grandchildren, Jack Crawford, Liam Fisher Stallings, Lynlee Young, Reed Young, Taylor Phillips and Marian Phillips.

In addition to his parents, Novis was preceded in death by his wife, Lou Allen Dennis Fisher; four brothers, Bill Fisher, Finis Fisher, Marvin Paul (Red) Fisher, George Fisher; and a sister, Beatrice Hopson.

Honoring Mr. Novis as pallbearers will be Dennis Fisher, Ty Fisher, Ronnie Fisher, Eldon Fisher, JR Fisher and Clyde Fisher. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jerry Wayne Rhodes, Keri Owen, Larry Bennett and Ronnie Price.

The family requests that memorials be directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
