Mrs. Norma Jean Smith, age 71, of Dyersburg, Tn, passed away Monday at Jackson Madison County General Hospital, in Jackson, Tn.

She was born on June 12, 1947, in Dyersburg, Tn. to the late Marvin and Virginia Valentine Jones.  She was a homemaker and a member of Independent Free Holiness Church where she was president of The Ladies Auxilliary of the church. She was very involved in all activities and functions of the church.

Funeral services for Mrs. Norma Jean Smith will be at 1 pm Thursday at Independent Free Holiness Church conducted by Bro. Calvin Smith, Bro. James Groves, Bro. Mac. Daniels, Bro Henry Melton, and Bro. Dakota Owsley.  Interment will be Fairview Cemetery.

Visitation will be Wednesday evening at 5-8 pm at Dyersburg Funeral Home and from 10 am until service time at Independent Free Holiness Church.

Survivors include her husband Rev. Calvin Smith, who loved and took care of her during her illness, her daughter Valeria Burns (Brian) of Dyersburg, and son Kenneth (Amber) Smith, of Finley, her sisters Sheila Seat (David), of Dyersburg and Patti Craig (David), of Newbern, and her brothers Tommy Jones (Francene), of Copperas Cove, Tx. and Johnny Jones (Lisa) friend of Dyersburg, Tn.  She was also survived by her grandchildren Garrett Burns (Christina), Lindsey Burns, Christopher Taylor Burns, Leelan Smith, Mason Vestal and her great grandson Gavin Burns.  She leaves many nieces and nephews she loved and was so proud of.

Pallbearers will be Johnny Jones, Tommy Jones, Garrett Burns, John Harris, Gerald Burns, Steve Webb, Ronnie Austin, and Dashel Campbell.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude's  Children Hospital.
