Obituary

Nina Marie Harden, 97, of Dyersburg, TN, passed away on Saturday, June 8, 2024 at the Alamo Nursing and Rehab Center.

Nina was born on September 20, 1926, in Maury City, TN to the late Joseph Lyle Vaughn, Sr. and Ollie V. Hammond Vaughn. She was a retired nutritionist for the State of Tennessee and was the oldest graduate of Dyersburg State Community College. Nina attended East Dyersburg Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday School Classes and was in the choir, until it's closing. She then became a member of Second Baptist Church. Nina loved her exercise class and her dance class and was also very active in the 4-H Club. She was a very good mother, homemaker, and a loving sister, grandmother and aunt. Nina was very proud to be a great-grandmother.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 11, 2024 in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with Bro. Loren Stephens officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.

The Harden Family will receive visitors from 12-2 p.m. Tuesday, June 11, 2024 at Dyersburg Funeral Home.

Survivors include her two sons, Donnie Ray Harden of Benton, KY and Jeff Harden of Halls, TN; three brothers, Bobby Ray Vaughn of Gates, TN, Danny Warren Vaughn of Maury City, TN and Charles N. Vaughn, Sr. of Dyersburg, TN; a sister, Mackie Louise Slayton of Crockett Mills, TN; two grandchildren, Richard Harden and Joseph L. Harden; two step-grandchildren, Rodney L. Lawson and Timothy Ryan Lawson; a great-grandson, Benson M. Harden; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Nina was preceded in death by her husband, Milton "Joe" Harden, Jr.; a son, Joseph Edward Harden; a brother, Joseph Lyle Vaughn, Jr.; and a sister, Lyla Frances Lilley.

Pallbearers will be Richard Harden, Joseph L. Harden, Buck Vaughn, Corey Mealer, Matt Daily and Wesley Mealer. Honorary pallbearer will be Benson M. Harden.
