Nellie Jo Smith, age 89, of Ridgely, TN passed away Saturday, November 9, 2019 at West TN Healthcare - Dyersburg Hospital.

Nellie was born on January 28, 1930 in Hornbeak, TN to the late Herbert Hopper and Farrah Burton. She was a retired employee of Reelfoot Manor Nursing Home. She was a member of Cottonwood Baptist Church.

Funeral services for Nellie Smith will be Wednesday, November 13, 2019 at 11 a.m. at Cottonwood Baptist Church in Ridgely, TN Funeral Services will be conducted by Rev. Paul Adams. The family will receive visitors from 4:30 - 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Cottonwood Baptist Church. Interment will be at Antioch Cemetery in Hornbeak, TN.

Survivors include her two sons Frankie Joe Smith (Marilyn) of Ridgely and Bart Lane Smith (Ashley) of Hornbeak; a daughter-in-law, Glenda Smith; a sister, Minnie Cox of Union City; five grandchildren, Kim Price, Brandi Jackson, Brad Smith, Erica Smith, Lauren Craddock; eleven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Nellie Smith is preceded in death by her husband Houston Smith; one son, Gary Smith; three brothers, Hershel Hopper, Waymon "Doobie" Hopper, Eugene Hopper; and one sister, Betty Johnson.

Pallbearers will be Clay Craddock, Tim Jackson, Daniel Hayes, Michael Cox, Logan Hamra, Gary Hamra.

Honorary pallbearers will be Nick Price and Ben Price.
