Ms. Nancy Pleasant Taylor, passed away at her daughters residence in Paris, TN Friday June 23, 2023.  She was born January 20, 1948 in Dyersburg, TN to William & Ruth Tibbs Pleasant.  Over the years, she owned the Jack N Box Daycare and The Thimble Fabric Store in Paris, TN, worked for Tennessee State Parks at the Paris Landing Golf Course and was an assistant to former Tennessee governor, Ned McWherter.  After retirement, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and assisting the elderly. Her favorite activities included reading and thrifting.

She is survived by her son, Chad Baker & wife, Jinnifer, of Spring Hill, TN, two daughters, Shannon Joy Waddell of Paris, TN & Nikki Darline Hoffman, of Obion, TN, two sisters, Teresa Robertson of Newbern, TN and Joy Vick & Husband, Tim, of Dyersburg, TN, by her nine grandchildren, Jared Medlock, Allison Scott, Jeffery Marshall, Amber Hoffman, Kacey Baker, Rylee Baker, Regen Baker, Taylor Waddell & Brayden Scott and her two great-grandchildren, Rowan Avery Marshall and Kyla Amiria Tharpe.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 25, 2023 beginning at 1:00 p.m. followed by funeral services at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jared Medlock, Taylor Waddell, Brayden Scott, Jeff Pleasant, John Pleasant, Bart Peevyhouse, Doug Heck, Tyler Vick and Kyle Vick.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Joe Taylor, Jeffrey Marshall, Kacey, Regan & Rylee Baker, Allison Scott, Amber Hoffman, Lori Pleasant and Ashley Heck.
