Mrs. Nancy LaMeryl Pike, of Dyersburg, passed away Thursday, July 30, 2026, at her home. LaMeryl was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker. She truly enjoyed the simple pleasures in life including cooking and sewing for family and friends and tending her flower gardens and landscaping at their home. Her Christian faith was of utmost importance, and she loved to share the hope found in Jesus Christ with anyone she met. She and her husband bought and shared small metal crosses with those they crossed paths with, spreading God’s love. These crosses number nearly 9,000 over many years of their life together. She served as a life-member of the Gideons Women’s Auxiliary supporting the Bible distribution ministry. She was a long-time member of Hillcrest Baptist Church in Dyersburg. Family gatherings were some of her happiest times. She and her husband loved to cook and decorate for every holiday, opening their home to family and friends to celebrate together.
LaMeryl is survived by her husband of 69 years, William “Bill” Pike, her son Joe Pike and wife, Lavette, her daughters, Teresa Heathcott and husband, Brian and Lisa Willems and husband, Richard, and her sister Janie Zumbro. She was greatly loved as “Bubutter” by her grandchildren; Clint Waller (Paige), Bryce Heathcott (Tanna), Andrew and Emily Willems and Nancy and Will Pike and her great-grandchildren; Paisley, Tinlee, Brooks, Colter, Abby and another expected soon. She is preceded in death by her parents, Avy Clark Carter and Evie Lee Carter, a brother Larry Carter and her son and daughter-in-law; Dave and Pam Pike.
Visitation will be held at Hillcrest Baptist Church on Monday, August 3, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. with funeral services to follow at 4:00 p.m. led by Bro. Danny O’Guinn. Interment will follow on Tuesday, August 4, 2026 at 10:30 a.m. in the Tennessee State Veterans’ Cemetery at Parkers Crossroads. LaMeryl’s grandsons Clint Waller, Bryce Heathcott, Andrew Willems and Will Pike will be serving as honorary pallbearers.
The family request that, in lieu of flowers, memorials be directed to support the community benevolence ministries of Hillcrest Baptist Church.
