Mrs. Minnie Gamble Stanbrough, 81, of Dyersburg, passed away Wednesday, December 24, 2025 at her home.

She was born on May 9, 1944 in Dyer County. TN to the late Thelbert and Ruby Sollis Gamble. Minnie worked for many years in the Dyersburg area as a caregiver for local nursing homes as well as Simmons Shoe Store and as a devoted homemaker. In her free time, she was a treasure hunter and collector of antiques, also enjoyed crafting and jewelry making, which she could share with those around her. She loved tending to her flower gardens, including her favorite Clematis plant.

Minnie is survived by her husband, Alfred R. Stanbrough, Sr; her son, David Lynn Leggett, and stepson, Alfred R. Stanbrough, Jr.;  her daughters, Amy Carroll Childress and Polly Smith; her brothers, Johnny and Butch Gamble; and sisters, Peggy Scearce and Jewel Buchanan. She was greatly loved as "Gran" by her grandchildren Brooke, Ashley and Kyle; and great-grandchildren, Cole Beckett and Silvia. Her canine companions Pixie and Trixie brought her much comfort and joy.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Gene and Buddy Gamble; and sisters, Dema Follis, Faye Davis and Brenda Cannon.

Family and friends are invited to gather at Dyer County Memorial Gardens on Monday, December 29, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. for graveside services led by Mr. Greg Jordan.  Minnie's family and friends will be honored to serve as pallbearers.
