July 12, 1956 – August 21, 2020
Michael "Todd" Anthony Austin, 64, of Dyersburg, TN, passed away on Friday, August 21, 2020 peacefully at his home.
Michael was born on July 12, 1956 in Humboldt, TN to his loving parents Guy and Nellie Austin. He was a retired electronics technician at Ermco. His favorite activities included spending time with his family and friends, fishing, tending to his lawn, shopping at Rural King, and watching his favorite music videos, fishing videos, and motorcycle videos on YouTube. He will forever be remembered as a loving and devoted husband and father who worked tirelessly to ensure his family was provided for, cared for, and loved.
Michael is survived by his loving wife of 37 years Alicia of Dyersburg, TN, his greatly wanted and prized son Hayden of Dyersburg, TN, his feline friend Debra, his sister Sylvia "Sib" Hodge (D.D.) of Churchton, TN, his brother David "Bub" Austin (Pat) of Dyer, TN, his brother Ronnie Austin (Nancy) of Dyer, TN, his sister-in-law Johnnie McFarland (Pat) of Dyersburg, TN, his best friend since childhood Tommy King, and numerous other extended family members and friends who he loved deeply.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents Guy and Nellie Austin and his canine companion Rubert.
Michael would want everyone who has positively impacted his life to know that he is forever indebted for your investment of time and love and that he will smile down on each and everyone of you from Heaven. He would also like to thank the administration and his co-workers of Ermco for their exceptionable, kind, and generous treatment of him during his multiple bouts of poor health.
To honor Michael's life, he asks for those who can to submit a donation to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, TN in his memory as he was a cancer survivor and prayed for a world void of cancer.
A celebration of life gathering will be planned for a later time.
