Ms. Merry Elizabeth "Libby" Scott, of Ridgely, passed away Tuesday, May 13, 2025 at Jackson General Hospital.  She was born December 21, 1954 to the late Pleasant and Veatrice McAlister.  Throughout her life, Libby worked in production for various companies including Rolane, Tokheim and SR Products.  She is remembered for her love of shopping and travel to locations like Gulf Shores, AL and the Smoky Mountains.  She enjoyed watching videos about how things were made and was an avid reader.  Her name Merry was fitting due to her love of Christmas decor.

Libby is survived by her sons Gary and Josh Scott, of Ridgely and her four grandchildren who she was "Memaw" to and were the love of her life; Andrew, Jared, Lara Beth and Nathan Scott.  She is preceded in death by her husband Donald Scott, her parents, her brothers Ricky and Jerry McAlister and her sisters Teresa McAlister Parker, Glenda "Guinea" Scott and Judy McAlister.

Visitation will be held at the Dyersburg Funeral Home Ridgely Chapel on Friday, May 16, 2025 from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m.  and on Saturday, May 17, 2025 from 11:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.  Graveside funeral services will then be held at New Haven Cemetery in Ridgely at 1:00 p.m.  Family and friends will be honored to serve as pallbearers.
