May Elna "Sister" Cobb, 85, of Soddy Daisy, TN formerly of Dyersburg, died Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at Soddy Daisy Healthcare.

She was a retired telephone operator for Bell South, member of North Cleveland Baptist Church in Cleveland, TN, former member of Second Baptist Church in Dyersburg, member of Eastern Star, professional basketball player for Dr. Pepper Team, loved to watch sports of all kinds and attended Dyersburg High School.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with the Rev. Ronnie Turner officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.

The family will receive visitors from 1-3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Survivors include her nieces and nephews, Charles and Susan Arnold of Chattanooga, Sam Arnold of Nashville, Reid and Becky Daniels of Soddy Daisy, Frances Ann Kain of Nashville, Eddie Cobb of Cordova, Bubba Cobb of Dyersburg and Lexie Cobb of Batesville, MS; many great nieces and nephews, including, Corrie, Ethan, Brittany and Jo Elna Arnold and Leah and Sidney Daniels; and a sister-in-law, Ona Cobb of Dyersburg.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin Cobb; her parents, Aldeon "Red" and Heloise Adkins Tubbs; a sister, Janet Tubbs Arnold; and a special uncle, Hill Adkins.

Pallbearers will be Chip Arnold, Sam Arnold, Reid Daniels, Marty Tubbs and Mike Tubbs.

The family requests that memorials be directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
