Maxie Junior Burns, 90, of Dyersburg, passed away on Friday, January 1, 2016 at Dyersburg Manor Nursing Center.
Maxie was a retired pipeline foreman for L.O. Brayton & Company. He was also a former cab driver and former warehouse employee for Dyersburg Fabrics. Maxie was a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Dyer County Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Mac Daniels officiating. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
The family will receive visitors from 12:30-1:30 p.m. Saturday at Dyersburg Funeral Home.
Survivors include his sister, Judy Cobb and husband, Gene, of Flower Mound, TX; his caregiver/niece, Donna Rogers and husband, Alton, of Dyersburg; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Myrtle "Monk" Burns; his parents, Luther and Clarcie Wilson Burns; a sister, Mary Sue Smith; and six brothers, George Burns, John Burns, Buford "Buntyn" Burns, Thomas Burns, Gene "Buck" Burns, and Marshall Burns.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Burns, Wendall Burns, Wade Burns, and Keith Burns.
