Max Nelson Hollingsworth, 98, of Dyersburg, TN, passed away on Sunday, March 8, 2020 at Harborview of Dyersburg.

Max was born in Temple, Texas on March 25, 1921, to the late, Obie and Mary Cox Hollingsworth. He was a retired welder and was a Church of Christ by faith. Max was a loving father and grandfather. He enjoyed riding his motorcycles and fishing. Max proudly served his country in the United States Army.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 12, 2020 at Dyer County Memorial Gardens with Bro. Brandon Gates, Pastor of Junction Church of God officiating. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

The family will receive visitors from 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Thursday, March 12, 2020 at Dyersburg Funeral Home.

Survivors include his wife, Bessie Lowe Hollingsworth of Dyersburg, TN; four daughters, Vicky Bergenham of Benton Harbor, MI, Judy Hays and husband, Dan, of Dyersburg, TN, Barbara Davis of Dyersburg, TN and Carol Burke and husband, Jerry, of Newbern, TN; a brother, Garland Vinson Hollingsworth of Davis Junction, IL; a sister, Wilma Glenn Cannon of St. Peters, MO; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Max was preceded in death by a son, James Emmett Lowe; two daughters, Phyllis Roberts and Tammy Michael; two brothers, Obie Haynes Hollingsworth and Donald Cleton Hollingsworth; two sisters, Hazel Overa McCutcheon and Wanda Beatrice Moody; and a grandson, Curtis Hinson.

Pallbearers will be Lynn Roberts, Steve Hollingsworth, Eric Thurmond, Michael Crews and Adam Pride. Honorary pallbearer will be Dan Hays.
