Obituary

Mary Tucker Scott, age 83, of Tiptonville, TN, passed away on Sunday, December 22, 2024, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.

Born on November 4, 1941, in Flat Woods, TN, she was the daughter of the late DeWitt and Martha Tatum. Mary was a retired hairdresser who loved sewing, gardening, and flowers. She was a member of the First Baptist Church Tiptonville and was known as a wonderful caregiver.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 28, 2024 at the First Baptist Church in Tiptonville with Rev. John Troutman officiating. Burial will be in New Haven Cemetery. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

The family will receive visitors beginning at 4:30 p.m. Friday, December 27, 2024 at Tiptonville First Baptist Church.

Survivors include her two daughters, Martha Jane Connell (Steve) of Tiptonville, TN and Laurie Ann Alexander (Travis) of Hornbeak, TN; a brother, Alec Weaks of Tiptonville, TN; a sister, Linda Newton (Michael Gene) of Ridgely, TN; two half-sisters, Mary Delion (Bill) and Adelle Tatum; five half-brothers, Eugene Tatum (Melba), Ernie Tatum (Jane), Witt Tatum, Larry Tatum (Laura) and Terry Tatum; five grandchildren, Adam Alexander (Amber), Steven Connell (Kansas), Alton Kinstley (David), Chelsea Keeling (Dillon) and Grace Alexander; nine great-grandchildren, Peyton Lebo (Kelsy), Taylen Alexander, Brooklyn Keeling, Kalie Lebo, Jay Lebo, Jay Alexander, Addie Keeling, Presley Eddlemon and Jet Connell; and one great-great-grandchild, Kynadi Lebo.

In addition to her parents, Ms. Mary was preceded in death by her two husbands, James Ed Tucker and Glen Scott; a grandson, Parks Lebo; her sister, Mattie Scott; and five brothers, Alvin Weaks, Cooper Tatum, Frank Tatum, Thomas Tatum and Junior Tatum.

Serving as pallbearers will be Steven Connell, Adam Alexander, Alton Kinstley, Peyton Lebo, Jay Lebo and Dillon Keeling.
