Mary Laverne Powers' Obituary
Mary Powers, age 91, passed away May 28th, at her home in Dyersburg.
She was a member of First Baptist Church as well as the Fidelis Sunday School Class. Mrs. Powers found her greatest joy in being a homemaker and taking care of her family.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Ira Powers; a daughter, Sheila Jones (Jonathan) of Dyersburg; two grandsons, Justin Jones (Meredith) of Memphis and Jarred Jones of Birmingham, AL. She also has two great-grandsons, Patrick and Simon Jones.
Mrs. Powers was predeceased by her parents, V.M. and Roxie Pruett; a brother, Edward Pruett; and a sister, Edna Clark.
The services for Mrs. Powers will be held Saturday, May 30th at Dyersburg Funeral Home at 10:30 a.m. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery. Pastors Mike Hickman and Justin Jones will be officiating the services.
Pallbearers will be Charles McGregor, Charles Chandler, Tony Pruett, Richard Leow, Frank Horner and Robert Bond.
The family asks that any memorials be sent to the First Baptist Church Building Fund.
