Mary Ellen Permenter, 75, of Newbern, TN, passed away Friday, July 24, 2020 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.

Mary was born on February 18, 1945, in Dyersburg, TN to the late Lewis and Mary Ollie Burpo Brasfield. She was a retired cook with Dairy Queen.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 28, 2020 at Fairview Cemetery with the Rev. Mac Daniels officiating. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Family members and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery.

Survivors include her four daughters, Debra Shoulders (Billy) of Henning, TN, Teresa Barham and Belinda Permenter, both of Trenton, TN and LaDonna Cherry of Jackson, TN; four sons, Jerry Permenter (Cindy) of Tampa, FL, Michael Permenter of Jacksonville, FL, Jackie Permenter of Dyersburg, TN and Ricky Permenter of Key West, FL; a sister, Carol Johnson of Tacoma, WA; fifteen grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, William Permenter; a daughter, Beverly Faulkner; a sister, Barbara Webb; and three brothers, J.R. Ingram, Steve Brasfield and Albert Brasfield.
