Mary Velmadean Moore Rickman, 89, of Dyersburg, TN, passed away on Wednesday, April 26, 2023 at her residence.

She was born on July 10, 1933, in Edith, TN, to the late Grady Ewell Reeves and Ilar Campbell Reeves. Mary was a retired employee with Oakwood Manor and was a member of Independent Free Holiness Church. She loved being around her family and friends and was a very good singer. Mary never met a stranger and could talk to anyone. She enjoyed going to church and dancing.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 29, 2023 in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with Bro. Calvin Smith officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.

The family will receive visitors from 6-8 p.m. Friday, April 28, 2023 at Dyersburg Funeral Home.

Survivors include her three daughters, Janie Moody, Wanda Wray (Jim) and Deborah Henson, all of Dyersburg, TN; a brother, Brady Reeves, Sr. of Dyersburg, TN; four sisters, Sandra Reeves of Dyersburg, TN, Bonnie Haynes of Newbern, TN, Patricia Kee and Tina Anderson, both of Kentucky; fifteen grandchildren; thirty-one great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and a niece, Lisa Reeves.

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Sam Rickman; two sons, Charles Thompson and Mike Thompson; three brothers, Ralph Reeves, Sr., Hubert Reeves and Kevin Reeves; a sister, Cathy Fincher; and two grandchildren, Billy Noel, Jr. and Bratt Hughes.

Pallbearers will be Naseem Shaikh, Jimmy Ditto, Steven Henry, Micah Middlebrook, Richard Hughes and James Taylor. Honorary pallbearers will be Terrance Lyons and Kellon Johnson.
