Mary Frances Lowery Johnson Slaughter, 66, of Dyersburg, died Thursday, March 18, 2010 at Volunteer Community Hospital in Martin.
She was a retired owner of The Cozy Kitchen Restaurant and a member of West Dyersburg Church of Christ.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at West Dyersburg Church of Christ with Mr. Glen Burse and Mr. Jim Chamblee officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Newbern.
The family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. Saturday at Dyersburg Funeral Home.
Survivors include her husband, Stoy Slaughter, of Dyersburg; four daughters, Leigh Ann Simpson and husband, Randy, of Sherrills Ford, N.C., Meri Lynn Gwinn and husband, Danny, Jill Nash and husband, Chad, all of Friendship, and Holly Campbell, of Finley; a step-daughter, Joyce Brooks and husband, Ronnie, of Dyersburg; a step-son, Mike Slaughter and wife, Elaine, of Dyersburg; three sisters, Dot Hollomon of Dyersburg, Betty Swims of Jackson, and Patty Jefferies of Germantown; a brother, Ted Lowery of Jackson; seven grandchildren, Molly Kate Simpson, Calli Simpson, Katie Gwinn, Keri Gwinn, Hunter Campbell, Rebecca Campbell, and Morgan Nash; six step-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, James D. Johnson; her parents, Floyd and Lucy Pruitt Lowery; a sister, Imo Gene Butcher; and three brothers, James Lowery, Billy Ray Lowery, and Sammy Lowery.
Pallbearers will be Hunter Campbell, Ronnie Butcher, Greg Swims, Jay Hollomon, Gene Hall, Mike Slaughter, Ricky Lowery, and Jimmy Lowery. Honorary pallbearers will be Todd Swims, Danny Lowery, and Andy Swims.
