Obituary

Mary Ruth Lambert Moss, 97, of Tiptonville, passed away on Thursday, February 27, 2014 at Tennessee State Veteran's Home in Humboldt.

She was a retired cashier for the Peabody Hotel in Memphis. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, member of the Main Street Organization, member of United Methodist Women and member of Tiptonville City Beautiful Group. She was a Tech. Sgt. Veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps of WWII.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church in Tiptonville with the Rev. Marita Burkeen officiating. Burial will be in Lake Memorial Gardens. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

The family will receive visitors from 10:30 a.m. - 3 p.m. Saturday at the church.

Survivors include her son, Albert Markham III of Tiptonville; three grandchildren, Mitzi Elam, Suanna Geater and Veneda Ing; five great-grandchildren, Samantha Latham, Gavin Elam, Kailey Hayes, Karlyn Hayes and Amanda Geater; and three great-great-grandchildren, Jackson Latham, Clayton Latham and Samuel Latham.

She was preceded in death by her husband, W.D. Moss; her parents, Maxwell and Mary Vanderburg Lambert; and two brothers, Charles Lambert and Gene Lambert.

Pallbearers will be Terry Jamison, Alan Butler, Joseph Sumara, Marty Vaughn, Bruce Ing and Erick Geater.

The family requests that memorials be directed to First United Methodist Church in Tiptonville.
